Corn is Only Corn if You Live Where "Corn" is Most Common

From Corn in the Columbia Encyclopedia:

The name corn is given to the leading cereal crop of any major region. In England, corn means wheat; in Scotland and Ireland, oats.

so when we sell our excessive harvest of "corn" to european buyers, what do we refer to it as?

Apparently as "corn" and nobody is a pedantic dick about it saying, "You know, corn is really blah blah blah...."
